The creatures summoned by Niviene run the gamut of traditional mythological and legendary beasts found in almost every other role playing game on the market. There are giants, dragons, goblins and gargoyles all mixed in with other creatures pulled from various cultures around the world.
Creature stats are laid out as follows:
Creature NameHabitat:
Number:
Move:
Reflex:
Attacks:
Damage:
Size:
Tenacity:
Description:
Habitat – The creature’s Habitat describes the types of locations and weather conditions it will most likely be encountered. For instance, the Giant Scorpion is found in Hot and Arid to Temperate lands.
Number – This is the number of creatures will be encountered at one time. This is mostly used in random encounters. The GM may place as many or as few of the creatures in an encounter as he or she sees fit.
Move – This is the distance in feet or yards that a creature can travel in one round. Creatures using different modes of movement (such as swimming or flight) have a separate Move score for it listed in parentheses.
Reflex – This is the creature’s reaction speed and is also used as its Agility score if needed. Reflex is also the creature’s Attack score for physical combat.
Armor – This gives the creature’s Armor Rating. It represents the amount of damage deflected by the creature’s hide when physically attacked. Other damage types will be noted in (parentheses). Nil means the creature has no armor.
Attacks – This is the number and type of attacks the creature can make in a combat round.
Damage – The amount of damage done for each type of attack available to the creature.
Size – The size of the creature listed as T for tiny, S for small, M for medium, L for large and G for giant.
Tenacity – The Tenacity of the creature is a measure of its eagerness to remain in the area of conflict when it has taken a significant amount of damage (at least 25%) or is outnumbered in any situation. The number listed is the creature’s willpower score representing the number of dice to be rolled. The higher the Tenacity score, the less likely the creature is to run away from battle. The Task Rating varies by situation.

Description: A single goblin isn’t much of a threat, that’s why you’ll only encounter them in very large numbers. Goblins are sneaky, nasty and generally unpleasant little creatures that will swarm over an opponent clawing and biting and slashing with tiny daggers or axes. They will attack an opponent until they see there is no easy victory and then they will scatter like flies should their intended target begin fighting back.
Said to be cousins of the playful and friendly gnomes and brownies, goblins delight in causing pain and strife to mankind. They are wicked and nasty little creatures that move about in the shadows causing mischief whenever possible.
In combat, goblins tend to work as a team, at least three to an opponent, attacking from different angles and heights. Their preferred weapons are small daggers and hand axes, but they will use their claws and teeth just the same. Goblins rely on surprise and terror as their main tactical advantage (opponents receive a -3 penalty to surprise checks against Goblins). Should an opponent begin fighting back with determination or more than a handful of opponents approach them, they will run.
